Giant junk photobombs real estate photos for DC condo

Homes for sale should show off their best assets.

But one Washington, DC, condo that hit the market last week spotlighted a rather unique detail unintentionally: a giant penis.

A gallery of more than 60 photos for the listing of a $489,000 “elegant home at the Southwest Waterfront, DC’s hottest new neighborhood” showcased a living room, two bedrooms and a balcony over 1,144 square feet. In the kitchen, though, besides floral wallpaper and green cabinetry, local blogger Dan Silverman spotted a naked surprise.

In one photo — which Silverman screenshotted and posted on his site PoPville before it was removed from the listing on Monday — hangs an apron that shows a male torso with an extremely well-endowed nether region.

The listing description doesn’t make any note of the phallic appearance. Instead, it describes the “gas cooking,” “beautiful subway tile backsplash and Scalamandre wallcovering.” No words were devoted to the sexy apron beneath the land-line phone and next to the coffee pot.

Silverman later superimposed a black box over the apron’s exposed junk because “the photo was causing the post to get blocked from some offices.”

The full image is still available on Twitter. Silverman headlined his story — and captioned the tweet — “Amazing real estate listing – please share with the world.”

It would seem the team over at KW Metro Center, who is handling the sale, caught wind of the lewd slip-up after Silverman called it out and axed the photo from the gallery.

What makes this penis photobomb particularly funny is how out of place it seems in the otherwise classic home. Marbled walls can be found throughout the main living space, which is decorated with ornate sculptures, Louis XIV-esque furniture, gold fixtures and oil paintings. The bedroom boasts wrought-iron beds and Victorian pieces.

This isn’t the first time a scandalous image has ended up in a real estate listing. In February, an otherwise average-looking brick Colonial home in Pennsylvania became known as “the 50 Shades of Grey house” after a “private adult sexual oasis” — sex swing, whips, and all — was prominently featured in the listing photos. The listing received more than 500,000 views in 24 hours.

So if the DC folks really want to sell their place, perhaps they should bring back the giant penis photo.
